Although to some, Minnesota's homeschool regulations are not overly burdensome, they are more restrictive than those of many other states. Some public school officials and legislators tend to want to make them more restrictive, which causes MN home education leaders to oppose the proposed restrictions often via legislative action.      MACHE alerts the home education community of legislative concerns via the bimonthly Paper MACHE newsletter, the bimonthly Communique newsletter for support group leaders, the Non-Paper MACHE electronic calendar of events, and the E-alert system. When necessary, MACHE organizes testimony for legislative hearings.
