Legislative Training Days

All MÂCHÉ members are encouraged to be involved in their local and state government, but we understand that many just don't know where to start!

It is with this in mind that MÂCHÉ member parents and their children (16 years old or older) are invited to our annual Legislative Training days. Here you will learn the inner workings of state government through two full days of interactive workshops, presentations, and tours of the Minnesota State Capitol. Both students and parents will observe and practice the legislative process:

  • How a bill becomes a law
  • How to meet with legislators
  • How to obtain documents and information
  • How to check on the status of a bill
  • How to navigate the Capitol
  • Various careers involved in the legislative process, such as legislative pages, legislative assistants and committee assistants, etc.
