Eileen Cushing
Eileen Cushing and her husband Richard are the parents of nine children and the grandparents of eleven. They began their homeschooling career in 1982 in the state of Texas. In 1991, their eighth child Abigail was born with Down Syndrome.
One of Eileen’s very first mentors was Kathy Salars, one of the cofounders of Nathhan. From that time began a long relationship with Nathhan. She and Richard served as the South Dakota State Coordinators for Nathhan from 1993 to 1998. For the last several years, Eileen has represented the ministries of Nathhan/Chask (National Challenged Homeschoolers Associated Network and Christian Homes and Special Kids) as an exhibitor at the MÂCHÉ Conference.
Her intent is to locate homeschooler-friendly resources for special needs families, and to facilitate a growing special needs lending library.
