This biography includes 6 hours of audio arranged in 26 chapters, each 14 minutes long.
WILLIAM TYNDALE (1494 - 1536), aBible translator and reformer was ordained as a priest in 1521 after studying at Oxford and Cambridge. Tyndale defied Papal authority, and after conferring with Luther in Germany, began to translate the Bible from Greek into English. The English translation was opposed by church authorities. He was tried for heresy, condemned, strangled and his body was burned. His last words were, "Lord, open the King of England's eyes." Tyndale's influence on England was great, and it is estimated that over 60% of the King James Bible is derived from Tyndale's translation.
