Understanding Executive Function

A student’s ability to understand academic content – facts, information, etc, — is critical to academic success.? However, how a child learns — their ability to integrate information, control emotions, resist distractions and hit deadlines — often determines their academic and future success.? The “how” we learn is referred to as Executive Function.? Many students are extremely bright but due to weaknesses in Executive Function, they struggle to reach their full potential.? This workshop will define executive function, provide insights into how to identify behaviors that may be undermining performance and strategies to overcome these issues.
