Mark Nielsen, a forensic scientist in Minnesota, began his work interning with California County Coroners assisting in death investigations and notifications to families. He earned a B.S in both Criminal Justice and Forensic Science in 1987 from California State University in Sacramento. Mark has served as a forensic scientist with the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension since 1989. During his tenure with the BCA, Mark has investigated/assisted in over 100 crime scene death investigations. Mark has also been involved with the training of police officers in many areas of forensic investigations and has served as a Laboratory Inspector evaluating other forensic laboratories throughout the country.
